After a bizarre month of conflicting decisions, FC Barcelona have announced that Xavi Hernandez will be sacked after the final LaLiga match of the season. The sacking follows an announcement in January, when Xavi had stated that he would not fulfill the final year of his contract and would resign at the end of the 2023/24 season. But improved results and backing from the board had convinced the Catalan to change his decision. Barcelona plan to appoint former Bayern Munich and German national team coach Hansi Flick as coach.
