UEFA is analyzing the possibility of reforming the qualification system for the World Cup and the European Championship, according to the weekly Sport Bild. The new format could eliminate the group stage, adopting a league-type system similar to that of the Champions League, which could make the competition more attractive to fans and television.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin mentioned that discussions are ongoing about an interesting format, without increasing the number of matches. Additionally, a new working group made up of 55 member associations will prepare reform proposals, which will require the approval of the UEFA Executive Committee. As for the European Championship, it seems that the current format with 24 teams and group matches will remain unchanged.
