On Thursday evening, at 7:45 PM, Craiova and Sparta Prague faced off in the Conference League group. The Czechs won with a late goal, 2-1, and normally would have left Craiova that same night.

Their plans were turned upside down. The fog and, implicitly, the reduced visibility prevented the takeoff of the plane that was supposed to take them home, both Thursday night and this morning.
