Sorana Cîrstea, a Romanian tennis player ranked 32nd in the world, has managed to qualify for the round of 16 at the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, which has total prizes of over 4 million dollars.
In the second round, Cîrstea faced Linda Noskova, a Czech athlete ranked 14th in the WTA and seeded 10th, whom she defeated with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-4, after a match that lasted one hour and 10 minutes.
In the round of 16, Cîrstea will play against the winner of the match between Coco Gauff (USA) and Elise Mertens (Belgium). For this performance, the Romanian player will receive 49,250 dollars and 120 WTA points.
