During the match in the 2.Bundesliga between Hertha Berlin and Preussen Münster, a surprising incident occurred when referee Felix Bickel had to consult the VAR screen to check a possible penalty. The screen, however, remained off because two fans of the home team, wearing hoods, disconnected it. The referee decided to allow the VAR team from Köln to make the decision, announcing to the public through the stadium speakers. Subsequently, a banner was displayed with the message 'Disconnect VAR'.

The Preussen Münster club condemned the incident and promised to identify the perpetrators, stating that safety must remain a priority. The sporting director and players expressed their surprise and outrage at this act, emphasizing that such situations should not happen.
