Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one player, stated that it is possible for players to boycott a Grand Slam tournament due to disputes over prize money. Players in the top 10, both men and women, are demanding a larger share of the revenues generated by the four major tournaments, as well as contributions to benefits and greater involvement in the scheduling of competitions.

Although players have been reluctant to discuss protest actions, Sabalenka stated that a boycott could be the only way to fight for their rights. Iga Swiatek, the world number three, also supports the increase in prize money but believes that a boycott would be an "extreme measure," while Elena Rybakina, ranked second, said she would follow the majority's opinion.
