Healthcare employees organized protests in front of the Ministry of Labor, dissatisfied with the provisions of the new salary law, which, according to the Sanitas Federation, could lead to capping incomes and reducing bonuses. A nurse could lose up to 1,200 lei, and union members believe that the law represents "the worst version" of the future regulation.

The protests were announced two days in advance and will continue on June 3 in Victory Square and Parliament. Additionally, employees of the Bucharest Treasury have initiated a spontaneous protest, displaying messages of discontent.

Nationally, employees of the Customs Authority have started protest actions by strictly applying customs control procedures, which could lead to delays at border crossing points.

The unified salary law is set to take effect from January 1, 2027, affecting over 1.2 million public employees, with salary increases for 56% of them.
