Men's basketball: Romania started with a victory in the EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifiers

The Romanian national team won on Thursday, away, against the Danish national team, with a score of 89-78 (38-33), in the first match of Group D of the EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifications, round 2. It was the first official match on the tricolor bench for coach Jonah Herscu, assistant at the Chicago Bulls, appointed by FRB this month.

For Romania, Russell scored 34 points, Diculescu 17, Nicolescu 14, Kuti 7, Cățe 6, Măciucă 4, Tohătan 3, Uță 2, Lungu 2, while for the hosts, Dibba stood out with 21 and Lundberg with 15.

The next match for the tricolors will take place on Sunday, in Tulcea, against Bulgaria. Only the first-placed team qualifies directly for the EuroBasket 2029 preliminaries.
