The Politehnica Iași club does not give up on the amount of approximately 300,000 euros owed by Andrei Gheorghiță, after his transfer to FCSB. Iași has filed a lawsuit at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), with the first hearing set for January 23, 2026. The club was initially defeated on appeal, but hopes to recover the amount of 230,000 euros plus VAT, stipulated in the transfer contract. The executive manager, Florin Briaur, is optimistic that CAS will rule in their favor, considering that the player received all his salaries, albeit with delays. In the event that Iași wins, it is unclear from which club they will recover the money, given that Gheorghiță was subsequently transferred to Universitatea Cluj. This amount would be essential for the club that is in insolvency, especially in the context of the delay in funds from the municipality.
