Women's Handball World Championship: In the last match of the first phase of the groups, Romania suffered its first defeat of this World Cup, against Denmark.

The Romanian national team was defeated on Monday in Rotterdam by the Danish team, with a score of 39-31 (21-18), in the last match of the preliminary group A at the World Championship. The tricolors finish in 2nd place and continue the competition in main group I, where they will play alongside the teams qualified from group B - Hungary, Switzerland, and Senegal.

The tricolors played on equal terms with the European vice-champions for 40 minutes, but then Denmark began to pull away decisively. 

Sorina Grozav scored 9 goals from 18 attempts, followed by Ostase and Necula, each with four goals.
