The Norwegian Ski Federation has sadly announced the death of Audun Groenvold, a former alpine skier and ski cross athlete, who died at the age of 49 after being struck by lightning. The incident occurred during a trip to the lodge, and Groenvold was rushed to hospital where he received treatment but died on Tuesday evening. Groenvold won a bronze medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and was part of Norway's national alpine ski team before specializing in freestyle and ski cross.
