The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, has promulgated the Paraschiv Law, which brings significant changes to Law 4/2008 regarding the prevention of violence at sports competitions. Adopted on June 30, 2026, with 242 votes, the law will come into force after publication in the Official Gazette. One of the most important changes is the elimination of the possibility for fans to receive bans from stadiums solely based on the report of law enforcement; now, only the court can impose this measure.
Additionally, supporters can use flags on fences to support their teams. The law also allows the consumption of beer in stadiums, with strict regulations, and pyrotechnic displays will only be permitted with authorization. The removal of the buffer zone will allow for the sale of a larger number of tickets, increasing the clubs' revenues. Ciprian Paraschiv, the initiator of the law, emphasized that this represents a victory for supporters and the sports phenomenon.
