Nick Kyrgios, former Wimbledon finalist, will participate in the Brisbane International tournament next month, after the organizers offered him a wildcard. The 30-year-old Australian has had a career affected by injuries in the last two years, playing only five singles matches in 2025, the last being at the Miami Open in March.
Currently, Kyrgios is ranked 673rd in the world rankings and does not benefit from a protected ranking, which means he will need a wildcard to compete at the Australian Open as well. Before this Grand Slam, he will participate in the Kooyong Classic exhibition event in Melbourne and in a 'battle of the sexes' with Arina Sabalenka, the world number one in women's tennis, in Dubai on December 28.
