Serena Williams will form a strong mixed doubles team with Carlos Alcaraz at the U.S. Open, after the U.S. Tennis Association announced that they received a wild card for the tournament.
This will be her first participation at the U.S. Open since 2022, and Williams has returned to tennis this summer. Although she has not yet confirmed whether she will also play singles, USTA still has one wild card available for her. Williams accepted invitations to play at Wimbledon, where she lost in the first round of singles and withdrew from the doubles match due to a knee injury.
Recently, she played doubles with her sister, Venus, at the Cincinnati Open. Carlos Alcaraz, who was injured in his wrist, will defend his title at the U.S. Open, being the youngest player to complete a Grand Slam.
