Rafael Nadal will return to the court in front of the public on October 3 in Manacor, in the Balearic Islands, for an exhibition tournament held to mark the tenth anniversary of the founding of his academy. It will be the former world No. 1’s first appearance in a public match since his retirement from tennis at the end of 2024.
The event will take place at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and organizers have announced that the Spaniard will face some of his former rivals and friends. The full list of participants will be released in the coming days.
Nadal, 40, retired after his final match for Spain in the Davis Cup in November 2024. He won 22 Grand Slam titles, including 14 at Roland Garros, two Olympic gold medals and five Davis Cup trophies.
The return comes as the academy founded by Nadal is undergoing international expansion. The company has announced a new tennis center in Indonesia, scheduled for the first quarter of 2028, as part of the Samara Lombok complex. The network already includes facilities in several countries.
