Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver from Red Bull, won the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday, achieving his 70th career victory. The race was influenced by the strategic errors of the McLaren drivers, who did not pit when the safety car was on the track. Verstappen took advantage of this situation, returning to the lead after Lando Norris pitted on lap 45.
Oscar Piastri from McLaren finished in second place, while Carlos Sainz from Williams completed the podium. With this victory, the world title will be decided in the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi, where Lando Norris leads with 408 points, followed by Verstappen with 396 points and Piastri with 392 points. The Qatar Grand Prix took place for the first time in 2021 and has a length of 5.419 km.
