Japan's fans continued the tradition that made them famous at the final tournaments and collected the trash from the stands after the 2-2 draw with the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup. Shortly after the final whistle of the match held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the Japanese supporters gathered the debris from the area where they sat and disposed of it in plastic bags brought specifically for this purpose. The gesture once again attracted the attention of the international press, being a practice that Japanese fans have respected for several editions of the World Cup.
