Australian Jack Doohan, 23 years old and son of legendary motorcycle racer Mick Doohan, has been hired as a reserve driver for the American team Haas for the 2026 Formula 1 season. After his debut in 2025 with Alpine, where he participated in six races, Doohan was replaced by Franco Colapinto and demoted to reserve driver.
In January, Alpine announced that they had amicably parted ways with him. At Haas, Doohan joins Ryo Hirakawa and expresses his enthusiasm for continuing his career in Formula 1. Team principal Ayao Komatsu praised Doohan's experience as a reserve at Alpine, highlighting the dedication required to stay prepared.
Haas, which finished eighth in the 2025 Constructors' Championship, will start the new season on March 8 in Melbourne.
