Fernando Alonso, aged 45, has extended his contract with Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso will race for Aston Martin in the 2027 season as well, after deciding not to retire from Formula 1. The Spaniard, who has reached the age of 45 and is in his 23rd season, sits 19th in the drivers’ standings with three points, but believes he still has the speed and motivation needed to compete at the highest level.

Aston Martin also confirmed that Lance Stroll will remain Alonso’s teammate, set to begin his 11th season in Formula 1. The team says retaining this pairing will allow it to focus on its development and long-term goals.
