The Greek national team won the women's water polo world title, beating Hungary 12-9 in the final in Singapore. This is the second world title for Greece after the 2011 title. Throughout the competition, the Greek team had only one defeat and in the final, Foteini Tricha and Eleni Xenaki scored three goals each. Coach Charis Pavlidis has breathed new life into the team, which has won both recent competitions. Spain took bronze on the podium, beating the USA 13-12.
