Gennaro Gattuso, the former Italy midfielder and 2006 World Cup winner, will take over as national team coach, according to Gianluigi Buffon. Spalletti's dismissal came after a 3-0 defeat in Norway. Gattuso, who has experience coaching at various clubs including Napoli, will be tasked with preparing the team for the World Cup after Italy missed the last two tournaments.
