Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will face each other on December 11 in Cardiff

The much-anticipated clash between Britons Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will take place on December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh announced on Thursday. The arena in the Welsh capital has a capacity of approximately 80,000 seats.

The bout between the two former world heavyweight champions was officially confirmed after years of negotiations and speculation regarding the venue. The United States and Saudi Arabia had previously been mooted as possible hosts, but the fight will take place in the United Kingdom. The promoter described the duel as one of the most important in boxing history.

Fury and Joshua will hold their first joint press conference on September 30 in London. The event will be broadcast on Netflix, and both boxers are expected to earn millions of dollars.

Tyson Fury, who is approaching the age of 38, has 36 wins in 39 fights and recently defeated Polish boxer Mariusz Wach. Anthony Joshua, aged 36, has 30 wins in 34 bouts and is coming off a knockout victory over Albanian Kristian Prenga.
