University of Craiova has reached an agreement with Alexandru Maxim, a 19-year-old goalkeeper who played last season at FC Voluntari.

At just 19 years old and with an impressive height of 2.04 m, Maxim is one of the most talented young Romanian goalkeepers.

The new goalkeeper of the team played in the recently concluded season in 24 matches for FC Voluntari, in Liga II, contributing to the promotion of the Ilfov team to the Superliga.

Although Laurențiu Popescu remains the undisputed starter of the team, the options in the squad have significantly reduced in recent weeks.

Joao Goncalves left the club without making his debut, Silviu Lung Jr. is no longer part of the plans for the next season, and Pavlo Isenko continues his recovery after a serious injury. The Ukrainian goalkeeper is expected to return to the field only in October.

The transfer of Alexandru Maxim was facilitated by the player's contractual situation.

The goalkeeper played in the recently concluded season at FC Voluntari, where he was on loan from FCSB. His contract expires at the end of June, and Universitatea Craiova took the opportunity to bring him in without having to pay a transfer fee.
