Romanian football has been shaken by the withdrawal of FC Hermannstadt from Liga II, announced just a day before the start of the new season.
The club from Sibiu officially notified the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) of its decision, and the body led by Răzvan Burleanu has already begun procedures to replace the team in the competition.
The withdrawal comes just two months after Hermannstadt lost the relegation playoff in Liga 1 against FC Voluntari.
FRF has already sent an invitation to the team from Satu Mare to take the vacant spot, with the official announcement expected to be made in the coming period.
This complicated situation further disrupts the landscape of Romanian football, bringing uncertainties to the competition in Liga II.
