After the competition, Popovici stated that he hopes this will be the first medal in a series of successes, mentioning that it was his first competition after an eight-month break. He emphasized that his main goal for this year is the competition in Paris and that he came to have fun and feel good. Additionally, Popovici will also compete in the National Championship in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, and relays.
