David Popovici won the 100 meter freestyle event at the National Championships in Otopeni, obtaining his fourth gold medal in four days.

David Popovici, representing CS Dinamo Bucharest, concluded the National Championships in Otopeni in an impressive manner, winning the 100-meter freestyle event and thus securing his fourth gold medal in just four days of competition. With a time of 47.52 seconds, Popovici dominated the race, followed by Patrick Dinu and Eric Andrieș.

In the previous days, he also won the 50-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, and in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay, demonstrating excellent form. In the 200-meter freestyle, Popovici had a controlled race, confirming his status as the reigning world champion. The Romanian athlete aims to participate in the Sette Colli competition in Rome and the European Championships in Paris, having clear objectives for the upcoming period.

Although he is not in a hurry to break a world record, Popovici feels in shape and ready for international competitions.
