European Aquatics has announced that the Romanian Constantin Popovici has been named the best European athlete of the year 2025 in high diving, obtaining 35.06% of the votes. His remarkable performances include the bronze medal won at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore and second place at the World Cup stage in Porto Flavia.

At 37 years old, Popovici has demonstrated exceptional consistency in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, finishing second in the overall ranking. In second place in the votes was the Spaniard Carlos Gimeno, while the Italian Andrea Barnaba took third place. Veteran Gary Hunt finished fourth, and the Romanian Cătălin Preda was fifth, reinforcing Romania's strength in this sport.
