The two-year investigation led to the life bans of 43 people, including three former Chinese internationals. 44 of those involved faced criminal sanctions and 17 others were found to be involved in bribery and match-fixing. The bans were announced ahead of a World Cup qualifying match where the Chinese team hosted Saudi Arabia.
