Antonio Brown was released on a $25,000 bail by a judge in Miami, awaiting trial for attempted second-degree murder. Brown, 37 years old, pleaded not guilty to the charge that could lead to a 15-year prison sentence. His attorney stated that Brown will reside at his home in Broward County, Florida, without a passport. Prosecutors requested preventive detention, fearing that the former athlete might flee due to his financial resources.
Brown was arrested in Dubai after an incident in May when he was caught carrying a gun and chasing someone, and gunshots were later heard. The Miami police issued an arrest warrant in June, and Brown was found in Dubai before being brought back to the United States. In his 12-year NFL career, Brown played for teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
