After the most painful defeat in the club's history, CFR Cluj have chosen Andrea Mandorlini as their new coach, replacing Dan Petrescu. Mandorlini, who has previous experience at the club, will take over after they were beaten 2-7 by Hacken in the Conference League play-off. Although Cosmin Contra was on the list of options, the club decided he was too expensive. Mandorlini, who has had success with CFR in the past, returns with the hope of turning the team around.
