Following the incident, Marquez suffered a fracture of the right collarbone and a slight fracture of the cervical vertebra C7, which will be reassessed next week. His team announced that he underwent surgery at the General Hospital of Catalonia. The accident occurred on the 12th lap when Marquez collided with his compatriot Pedro Acosta, who suddenly slowed down due to a mechanical issue.

Marquez fell at high speed, and his motorcycle overturned several times. Despite the accident, he tried to reassure fans through an Instagram post, appearing optimistic. Following the accident, Fabio Di Giannantonio won the race, which was marked by several falls and interruptions.
