Alex Ioniță announced on Facebook the signing of a new contract with the Chinese team Yunnan Yukun after leaving Rapid in February 2024. With his new team, the attacking midfielder scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 matches. Ionita expressed his gratitude to the club and supporters, noting his desire to continue the collaboration. During his career, he has also played for Rapid, Astra Giurgiu, U. Craiova and CFR Cluj, with a market value of €800,000.
