The Isaccea – Vulcănești power line, repaired after the Russian attacks

The 400 kV Isaccea – Vulcănești overhead power line has been fully repaired, according to the announcement from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova. It was affected by drone attacks from the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine.

The repair works were completed by the Ukrainian side, thus restoring the interconnection capacity and the security of electricity supply for the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of rational energy use, even after the line has been restored to operation.

In the context of these events, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has declared a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days, starting from March 25, 2026, as a result of the disconnection of the supply line due to Russian attacks. This line is crucial for the import of energy from Romania.
