In an article published by RIA Novosti, Sergei Soigu accuses the Moldovan authorities of planning to falsify diaspora votes ahead of the September 28 legislative elections. Moldova's foreign ministry condemned the allegations as unacceptable interference in the country's internal affairs, denouncing Russia's disinformation campaign. Moldova's Central Election Commission has decided to maintain the number of polling stations in Russia, but the Moldovan authorities are committed to ensuring free and transparent elections, including for citizens in the diaspora.
