The judicial structures in the Republic of Moldova are conducting searches in the northern part of the country, targeting a criminal case related to the preparation of destabilizations in the context of the parliamentary elections. These actions are coordinated by the National Inspectorate of Investigations and prosecutors for Combating Organized Crime. Among those detained are Vladimir Mîzdrenco, the president of the Râșcani district on the PSRM lists, and municipal councilor Maxim Moroșanu, who managed to flee. The PSRM has denounced these actions as political repression and an attempt to establish a dictatorship.

On September 22, the authorities announced that they had identified over 100 individuals trained in Serbia to destabilize the situation in the country, with links to the Kremlin and fugitive oligarch Ilan Șor. 74 individuals were detained following 250 searches, including in penitentiaries. President Maia Sandu warned about the intentions of the Russian Federation to control Moldova and the involvement of organized crime in destabilization actions. Moscow has denied the accusations.
