At Vama Albiza, the authorities confiscated a truck transporting contraband ammunition from Ukraine. The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova informed that 18 components of ammunition, 8 complete ammunition units, a surface-to-air launcher, and a 'Geran 2' type drone were found in the truck. The ammunition was illegally introduced into the Republic of Moldova through a carrier that was making regular transports from Ukraine. Investigators established that this ammunition was being transported in a concealed manner, having falsified customs documents for 'metal articles' destined for Israel. In this case, a 37-year-old Moldovan citizen and other accomplices were detained, being investigated for forming an organized criminal group and qualified smuggling. Prosecutors emphasized that the ammunition does not come from known military depots.
