Officers of the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA), together with prosecutors from the municipality of Chișinău, are conducting searches in a case of systemic corruption involving employees of the Customs Service, a customs broker, and a business agent. The investigation targets a broker who allegedly requested and received money from a representative of a company to influence the employees of the Customs Service, promising to facilitate the validation of customs declarations for imports.

So far, one person has been detained for 72 hours, and four others, including employees of the Customs Service, are being investigated while at liberty. The Customs Service has stated that it will fully cooperate with the authorities to document the case and reaffirmed its commitment to zero tolerance towards corruption, emphasizing the need for integrity in the system.
