Three young men detained in the Republic of Moldova in a drug trafficking case investigated by the Border Police and PCCOCS prosecutors

Three young men, aged between 22 and 33, including an employee of the justice system in southern Moldova, have been detained in a drug trafficking case. The group was documented and uncovered by Border Police officers in cooperation with PCCOCS prosecutors.

According to investigators, the suspects operated through the Telegram application. Case data indicates that two of them allegedly put cocaine up for sale, while the third allegedly financed the purchase of drugs intended for distribution.

More than ten searches were conducted as part of the investigation. Law enforcement officers seized drugs and more than 130,000 lei in various currencies, money suspected of having come from drug trafficking. An automobile, seven mobile phones, a computer, small scales, zip-lock bags and bank cards were also confiscated.

Investigators also seized an air pistol, a balaclava and several knives. Following the suspects’ detention in the act, PCCOCS requested that they be placed in pretrial detention.
