The Republic of Moldova set a new Guinness World Records record after 493 people formed the largest human representation of a grapevine in Chișinău’s Great National Assembly Square. The record was officially validated during the 25th edition of National Wine Day.
The participants created an image approximately 39 metres long, consisting of a root, trunk, branches, six bunches of grapes, six leaves and several grape tendrils. The elements were distinguished by the colours of the participants’ clothing, allowing the formation to be clearly recognised from the air—one of the conditions imposed by Guinness World Records.
For approximately 15 minutes, the participants remained in the positions established in advance, while official adjudicator Pravin Patel checked compliance with the criteria. The number of participants was monitored through the official Guinness app, with individual registration and QR code scanning to prevent double counting.
A total of 46 coordinators contributed to organising the attempt, managing the positioning and flow of participants. Those involved included representatives of educational institutions, the National Office of Vine and Wine, and senior officials.
