The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, emphasized in the European Parliament that Russia is testing interference strategies in Moldova, aiming at all of Europe.

In her speech, Maia Sandu highlighted the pressures and blackmail exerted by Russia on Moldova, including financial support for the separatist regime in Transnistria and the imposed embargoes. She emphasized that Moscow aims to capture Moldova through elections and use it against Ukraine. Sandu proposed measures to combat Russian influence, including stopping illicit financing, building democratic resilience, and involving citizens in defending democracy. She also stressed the need for coordination among European countries to face hybrid threats.
