At a press conference in Chișinău, Maia Sandu stated that, according to polls, there is no majority support in the Republic of Moldova for unification with Romania. Although she acknowledged that she would vote for reunification in a referendum, she emphasized that decisions must reflect the will of the citizens. Sandu mentioned that her priority is to ensure peace and security for citizens, highlighting that integration into the European Union has the majority support of the population. In the difficult regional and international context, she suggested that Romania's protection could contribute to stability, but reiterated that she has not discussed this topic with European leaders.
