A new security incident occurred in the Republic of Moldova, where a drone was found near the village of Sofia, Drochia district. The police quickly intervened to secure the area, and specialists will examine the drone to determine its origin and potential danger. The incident was reported by a shepherd, and the authorities reminded citizens to avoid suspicious objects.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident, considering it a violation of Moldova's sovereignty. The Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, emphasized the need to strengthen defense capabilities, given that drones pose a major challenge. Since the beginning of 2026, Moldova has recorded several similar incidents, and the number of drones that have fallen on its territory is approaching 20. Most of these drones are of the 'Gerbera' type and do not contain explosives, but their presence remains a serious threat to the safety of citizens.
