Boris Meșteșug, anesthesiologist-resuscitator, was criminally investigated for rape, kidnapping, and sexual abuse of two girls aged 10 and 12, acts that took place in 2010 and 2011. Although prosecutors requested a 25-year prison sentence, the trial was halted in 2021 due to procedural errors, without examining the charges on their merits.

The Ministry of Health stated that Meșteșug was reinstated on December 26, 2025, having the presumption of innocence. Over time, he continued to work in various medical institutions in Chișinău. The RISE Moldova investigation revealed other victims of the doctor, who consider him a danger, given that he escaped conviction and possesses a weapon. The Psychiatric Clinical Hospital will monitor his activities.
