The Isaccea-Vulcănești overhead power line, through which the Republic of Moldova imports energy from Romania, has been disconnected due to recent attacks on energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine, according to the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu.
Technical checks have been requested for the teams of the three transmission system operators to assess the situation on the ground. Interventions are underway, and the verification process could take several hours. To maintain the electricity supply, Moldelectrica, together with operators from Romania and Ukraine, has activated alternative routes, including four 110 kV interconnection lines between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, thus ensuring the continuity of energy supply during this critical period.
