The Government has suspended the mandates of 13 civil servants, including the director of the Public Property Agency, Roman Cojuhari, because of their candidacies in the parliamentary elections.

At the August 20 cabinet meeting, the mandates of 13 civil servants, including Roman Cojuhari and government secretaries, who had registered as PAS candidates for deputy, were suspended. The suspensions will last until September 28, and Sergiu Gherciu, secretary-general of the Ministry of Agriculture, will be suspended from August 26 to represent PAS at the Central Electoral Commission. The CEC approved PAS candidates, including those of former DA Platform members. The PAS list includes names such as Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Education Minister Dan Periciun.
