President Nicușor Dan appointed him on Sunday to form a Government the liberal Adrian Veștea, who currently holds the position of president of the Brașov County Council. He was previously the Minister of Development in Marcel Ciolacu's Government.

Adrian Ioan Veștea was born on December 14, 1973, in Râșnov, in Brașov County, being one of the top politicians in PNL, holding the position of first vice-president within the party.

Veștea became a member of the National Liberal Party in 1994, at just 21 years old.

In 2004, he was elected mayor of Râșnov and won three consecutive mandates until 2016.

In June 2016, Adrian Veștea was elected president of the Brașov County Council, a position in which he was later re-elected, becoming one of the most influential figures of PNL at the regional level. From this position, he pushed for county infrastructure projects, linking his name to the Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport project.

Between 2023 and 2024, he was a minister in Ciolacu's Government.

In the 2024 local elections, he again obtained the position of president of the Brașov County Council.

The designated Prime Minister, Adrian Veștea, is considered a close associate of the president of CJ Ilfov, Hubert Thuma, who leads the anti-Bolojan camp within PNL, according to local and central press.
