USR asks Vlad Popescu Piedone to resign from the position of mayor of Sector 5 after being excluded from PUSL

Vlad Popescu Piedone, the mayor of Sector 5, has been urged to resign after being expelled from the Humanist Social Liberal Party, the party on whose lists he was elected.

USR Sector 5 stated that this expulsion represents a major political rupture, affecting the trust of citizens and demanding immediate public explanations. The president of USR Sector 5, Iustinian Roșca, emphasized that citizens have the right to know the reasons for the expulsion and called for political accountability from Piedone.

Additionally, USR warned that the situation could negatively influence the functioning of the local administration. In a reaction, Piedone stated that he learned about his expulsion from the press and suggested that the decision might be related to his choice to remain alongside his supporters. This situation could significantly affect the majority needed to implement his projects in the city hall.
