Vlad Gheorghe, honorary advisor to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, launched harsh attacks against former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, accusing him of budgetary waste and of failing to justify the expenses from the Reserve Fund. Gheorghe called Ciolacu a 'pretzel vendor', emphasizing that he should explain the billions of lei spent.
The criticisms also extended to former Minister of Finance, Adrian Câciu, whom Gheorghe accuses of incompetence. In response, Ciolacu stated that the economic data for 2024 has been 'doctored' to hide the economic problems during Bolojan's term.
Other PSD leaders, such as Sorin Grindeanu, argued that the technical recession is a disgrace for the Coalition, placing the responsibility on Prime Minister Bolojan. The latter declared that the recession is part of a necessary transition towards a more sustainable economic model.
