Victor Negrescu has been appointed coordinator of the Socialist Group for the future multiannual budget of the EU

Victor Negrescu, MEP from PSD, announced on Facebook that he has been appointed coordinator of the Party of European Socialists (PES) for the future multiannual budget of the European Union. In this capacity, he will work closely with the team of the President of the European Council, António Costa, as well as with representatives of the member states and European institutions.

Negrescu emphasized the importance of an ambitious European budget that meets the needs of citizens, considering that negotiations for the long-term budget must be completed by the end of 2026. He will also coordinate an interinstitutional PES working group, aiming to equip the EU budget with a human dimension, essential for contemporary Europe. PES brings together social-democratic parties from across Europe, including PSD from Romania.
