Vasile Bănescu, former spokesperson of the Romanian Patriarchate and current member of CNA, mocked AUR leader George Simion for his request to receive protection from the Protection and Guard Service (SPP) after his party's headquarters was vandalized. Bănescu emphasized the moral courage to discuss the vandalism without naming Simion. The AUR leader accused the law enforcement institutions in Bucharest of discrimination and mentioned that the police had not identified the perpetrators, despite there being video evidence. Simion also brought up the threats he received, claiming that the authorities did not act. PNL deputy Alexandru Muraru criticized Simion's request, considering it hypocritical, given his previous violent behavior. Muraru urged CSAT not to approve the AUR leader's request for protection.
